Clean Up Australia Day with Currimundi Catchment Care Group – Sunday 7th March 2010
Posted on 18th Feb 10.
On Clean Up Australia Day 7th March, the Currimundi Catchment Care Group (CCCG) is organising a site along Currimundi Creek from 9am to 11am. The sign-on table will be on the pathway beside the bridge over Currimundi Creek on Creekside Boulevard, Currimundi. From here, volunteers will be given their bags and be directed along the pathways that border both sides of the creek to collect any litter from the bush.
Anyone with a kayak, a canoe or a tinny is invited to paddle along the banks to collect any rubbish caught in the edges. The Council’s Waterways Team will oversee operations from the water and help to distribute and collect bags from both walkers and paddlers. This is a lovely way to meet people and make friends while cleaning up Australia. Bring gloves, hat, closed in shoes, sunscreen. There will be a sausage sizzle at the end of the clean up.
