Currimundi Catchment Care Art in the Park

CURRIMUNDI CATCHMENT COMMUNITY ART IN THE PARK
TreeLine: people - art - science - nature.
Date: Saturday, 27th March 2010
Time: 1.30 - 5.00pm
Location: Noel Burns Park, opposite Warloo Street, Wurtulla.
Cost: Gold coin donation to assist in covering the cost of materials.
Learn about the special features of the Currimundi Lake environment from our ecologists and then work with TreeLine Lead Artist, Margaret Worthington, to create your own sketches, chalk art and kites to celebrate some of the treasure trove of distinctive plants and animals you have discovered in this Catchment.
Your Art into Community Art
Sketches may then be used to provide the basis for the artist to transfer this sketch into the community as interpretative artwork to be installed within the lakeside reserve. Or/ transformed into stencils which can be used by local school students to create colourful designs for kites.
Make a Celebratory Kite
· you may wish to create artworks which reflect your personal thoughts or connection to the Currimundi environment on kites
· These kites will be provided at a nominal cost to anyone wishing to participate in the Art on the Wind event World Environment Day, June 5th.
Sidewalk Chalk Sketches
Add a chalk sketch to the growing artwork along the pathway through the reserve. This artwork will be photographed and preserved as part of the TreeLine.
So come along, take in the atmosphere, connect with the rhythm of nature, let your imagination wander, meet others who care deeply about this area and have some fun.
